Date Formula in Excel
Hello everybody and welcome to Excel Made Easy, I’m your Excel Guru and today we will be covering the date formula of Excel. This allows you to create dates out of given numbers, like I have this example over here. I have serial numbers and I have mentioned the numbers below these headers Day and same for month and year. Now I would like to have them in the date feature in the date form, format so how I’m going to do it. I’m going to do it using this formula is equal to D a t e Date, bracket open and what is highlighted year so first of all you have to choose on the year, click sorry comma open what is highlighted month so choose the month the number which you like to have is month and then comma again sorry and then the day and close bracket and here is your answer Oct 2 1910. So I laugh because it is 2011 and my computer showing 1910. Well that’s excel for you. And we can change the format, just right click on it go to format cells and you can change the format to short format or something like this. Its cool isn’t it? So this is this was the date function.
